Renata Sabongui was born in Czechoslovakia. She teaches at university, she is a producer, an arts manager, gathering experience in many fields all over the world. She received her Master of Arts degree from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and is currently working on her PhD. in Biomechanics at Charles University. Renata is certified in the Ron Fletcher Program of Study and a certified Second Generation Teacher by Lolita San Miguel.
Ms. Sabongui attended workshops and classes with Kathy Grant, Jillian Hessel, Pat Guyton, Kathy Corey, Julian Littleford and at the Romana Kryzanowska Pilates Studio and others. She has over 30 years of teaching experience and was a guest Teacher at NYU Tisch School of the Arts (2014). She founded and sponsors the exchange program for dance students of Tisch School and the Czech Academy of Performing Arts since 2010.
She has taught International Pilates workshops and Congresses in the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. She co-produced the creation of the Memorial Plaque honoring Joseph H. Pilates and its festive unveiling in Monchengladbach, Germany in 2011. She continues teaching Pilates at the Academy of Performing Arts and has created 5 Pilates DVDs and a Pilates book.
